The target audience for a Master of Arts (MA) in Entrepreneurship is typically individuals interested in starting their own businesses or working in entrepreneurial roles within established organisations. This program is suitable for individuals seeking to gain a comprehensive understanding of the theories, principles and practices of entrepreneurship, and to develop the skills necessary to turn their innovative ideas into successful ventures. This program is targeted for students who have completed an MQF Level 6 qualification in a business-related subject and wish to continue their education track and gain an MQF Level 7 qualification in Entrepreneurship. The program is also targeted to students who have an MQF Level 6 qualification in a non-business related subject but have proven work experience for example in a creative capacity or as a self-employed person (for a minimum of 5 years). Undertaking this program may be a bridge for a student from being employed to becoming a business owner.
Programme Outcomes
- Graduates of the Master of Arts (MA) in entrepreneurship program will be able to start and run a successful business, as the program will provide students with the tools and knowledge they need to develop and execute a business plan, raise capital and manage the day-to-day operations of a business.
- In addition, students will be prepared for careers in entrepreneurship and/or for working in small or growing businesses.
- Students will gain a deeper understanding of how to identify and evaluate business opportunities, and how to develop strategies and tactics required to bring those opportunities to fruition.
- This program provides a unique learning environment for students, where students from varied backgrounds and disciplines are introduced to topics such as branding, marketing, business theory and practice, and business planning and finance at postgraduate level.
- In addition, students leave the program having cultivated the mindset and abilities to turn ideas into reality and to take calculated risks.
- Bachelor's degree or graduate degree in a business, humanities, finances or sciences, or a related (eg: commerce, psychology, social policy, marketing etc) field
- Minimum 180 ECTS at MQF Level 6 previously acquired at a Higher Education institution
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- A minimum of one year of work experience in a business environment will be considered as an asset
